The NEW SEASON
A LETTER FROM KATE
Welcome to the new season! Despite the slightly hit and miss summer, I do find at this time of year I'm ready to switch gears. People say you have a natural affinity to one or the other when it comes to summer or winter and whilst I adore the sunshine, I do quite like getting out my knits, cords and boots.
Being in this industry, the seasons are always very clearly marked with a new collection launching when the previous one ends. The weather of course isn't quite so disciplined with when to pack away the summer stuff and bring out the winter wardrobe; that's why I try to make many of my pieces work across the shoulder seasons. Layers, footwear, tights - all great friends of mine as the weather changes. As you know, a lot of my summer linens are a really good weight and therefore work brilliantly at this time of year with a knit jumper thrown on top. Hopefully you managed to pick some up in the sale.
Onto the new season and the age old question of what has inspired the new collection...I find that a hard one to answer. My design process is instinctual. I've said it before - trends aren't my thing. I don't look sideways when designing, I look inside. I am obsessed with fit and cut and am constantly looking at ways to achieve the most flattering fit possible. It's not tricky to work out that women want to look and feel good - and that's my real driver. I also want a hard working wardrobe so the collection is designed with a mix and match ethos; a few key pieces can really transform a wardrobe.
When I read some of your feedback and reviews and I see that I've delivered on what I've set out to do, it's a wonderful feeling. That's why I'm designing and that's ultimately what inspires my collections - a single track mission to make women feel good.
You'll see that this season I have simplified the sizing by introducing whole sizes. I do hope this makes things easier for you in finding your perfect fit. I've also introduced new lengths to some of our most popular styles. I have also added new styles and new fabrics across all ranges. The icing on the cake has to be my new knitwear collection, both cashmere and wool blend - across jumpers and accessories. It has taken me a long time to perfect this and it's only now that we are ready to introduce you to the new range. I hope you love the pieces as much as I do. The wait was worth it. I'm obsessed with the cashmere wrap!
Enjoy having a browse and as always I'm here and waiting to hear your thoughts!
